Studiocharlie realizza oggetti dall’aspetto fortemente grafico, sono immagini nello spazio. Per noi il progettare è una pratica che prescinde dal campo nel quale viene applicata. Si può disegnare su un foglio usando linee e colori. Allo stesso modo si può disegnare nell’acciaio, con laser e pieghe, o nel tessuto, con filati e intrecci. Sono disegni nella materia, linee nello spazio che identificano volumi.
La conoscenza e la scelta degli strumenti e dei materiali risulta indispensabile fin dall’inizio. Restare fedeli all’idea originaria per restituire la stessa emozione nell’oggetto reale significa curare ogni dettaglio, perché tutto sia coerente e compiuto.
È così che il pensiero divenuto oggetto mantiene la purezza e l’essenzialità dell’atto ideativo.
Sono immagini che si materializzano per poter essere condivise.
Studiocharlie lavora anche nel campo della grafica, fino al disegno di caratteri tipografici (es. Superbastone e Csuni, Segnalazione d’Onore al XX Premio Compasso d’Oro ADI).

The objects designed by Studiocharlie have a strong graphic aspect, they are images in space. Our outlook on design is a way of proceding that is independent from the field in which it will be applied to. One can draw on a sheet of paper using lines and colours. In the same way, one can draw on a sheet of steel using laser rays and folds, or on material using threads and weaving patterns. These are drawings using matter, lines that define volumes. Knowledge and choice of instruments and materials is paramount from the start. Fidelity to the original idea is necessary to restore the same emotion in the actual object: this means attending to every detail, to have a coherent and complete result. That’s how thought turned into object maintains the purity and simplicity of the creative impulse. They are images that materialise so as to be shared.
Studiocharlie also works in visual communication, till designing typefaces (for ex. Superbastone and Csuni, which received a special commendation for the 20th edition of the Compasso d’Oro ADI).
