PRISME / Piastrelle, vassoi e tavolini per MADE A MANO. L’ispirazione nasce dai muri che si incontrano spesso nelle campagne, nelle cascine, fatti di mattoni o di prisme in cemento, costruiti lasciando degli spazi per far respirare il fieno. Sono muri costruiti a mano, in modo semplice, i vuoti tra gli elementi sono irregolari, la luce filtra all’interno disegnando trame vibratili. Allo stesso modo accostando le piastrelle PRISME la parete appare finemente traforata; porzioni in pietra lavica dell’Etna, scura, opaca, si alternano a porzioni smaltate in colori lucidi, come se la parete si aprisse alla luce del paesaggio esterno. /// PRISME / Tiles, side tables and trays for MADE A MANO. Inspiration comes from brick walls that we often see in the countryside, in the farmsteads, that are built to leave some spaces to let the hay breathe. These walls are simply built, the spaces between the bricks are irregular, the light is filtered inside drawing vibrating textures. In the same way, when PRISME tiles are put together, the wall seems delicately fretworked; some portions made of lava stone from Etna volcano, dark, opaque, alternate with some portions glazed in bright colours, as if the wall were to let the light from the outer landscape come in.

NOTA / Sedia per ATIPICO. Una sedia birichina, sicuramente intelligente. A scuola era molto brava, ma la maestra a volte la richiamava: era un po’ chiacchierona. Altre volte la prendeva come esempio, con quei tubi curvi e proporzioni ben calibrate: una sedia bella anche da dietro. Per un motivo o per l’altro non passava mai inosservata, difficile dimenticarsi di lei, dei suoi colori, della sua precisione. NOTA è una sedia con un carattere non comune, dalla struttura sottile e forte in tubolare di acciaio verniciato o inox, con seduta e schienale in legno. /// NOTA / Chair for ATIPICO.  A cheeky chair, very intelligent. At school she was very clever, but the teacher sometimes had to tell her off: she was a little chatterbox. At other times she was a role model, with those curved pipes and well measured proportions: a beautiful chair, seen also from the back. For one reason or for another she was never unnoticed, it was hard to forget her, her colours, her precision. NOTA is a non ordinary temper chair, with a subtle and strong structure in steel pipes (stainless or painted), with wooden seat and back.

LA GEOMETRIA IN CUCINA / Strofinacci per Lanificio Leo. La cucina è quel luogo alchemico in cui i concetti astratti della matematica e della geometria diventano concreti: così stacchi un quadratino di cioccolato e mangi una frazione, dividi una torta e tagli un angolo, riempi un bicchiere e misuri un liquido. Dalla conoscenza di ciò che quotidianamente avviene in cucina nasce una famiglia di strofinacci in lino stampati a mano secondo un antico procedimento in cui anche il colore è una ricetta magica a base di ruggine e aceto.  /// LA GEOMETRIA IN CUCINA / Dishclothes for Lanificio Leo. The kitchen is that alchemic place where abstract concepts of mathematics and geometry become real: when you take a square piece of chocolate you eat a fraction, when you divide a cake you cut an angle, when you fill a glass you measure a liquid. By observing what happens daily inside the kitchen we designed a set of handprinted linen dishclothes produced by using an ancient method where colour is also a magic formula based on rust and vinegar.

Nicchia è una famiglia di piccoli contenitori per mostrare libri, pensieri, piccoli oggetti; con gambe (in due taglie, snella o tarchiata), o da aggiungere alla parete. /// NICCHIA / Small containers, prototypes. We gave freedom from the wall to the niche: reamain the lines that define the volume. Nicchia is a family of small containers to show books and little objects; with legs (in two sizes, slim or stocky), or to hang on the wall.
