GANDINO / Plaid e coperte per Lanificio Leo. Il plaid GANDINO viene prodotto dal Lanificio Leo, in Calabria, ma la sua storia nasce più a nord, in Valgandino, e in un’altra fabbrica.  È stato presentato nel 2018, ma in un certo senso esisteva già dagli anni ’70. È stato prima trovato e poi disegnato ed è diventato il segno materiale di un’amicizia.Durante le nostre ricerche per il libro “Torri Lana 1885. Archives and Future”, ci siamo imbattuti in un interessante campione: il tessuto Blue White Oslo, prodotto negli anni ’70 per la realizzazione di copriletti optical. Il disegno d’archivio è stato decostruito, scalato e remixato. Ne è nato un tessuto jacquard contemporaneo che fa parte collezione Triplejacq del Lanificio Leo. I colori dei filati della cartella 2018 sono stati scelti dall’artista olandese Sigrid Calon. /// GANDINO / Plaids and blankets for Lanificio Leo. The GANDINO plaid is produced by Lanificio Leo, in Calabria, but its history originates further north, in Valgandino, and in another factory, Torri Lana 1885. It was presented in 2018, but in a sense it already existed since the 70’s. It was first found and then designed and became the material sign of a friendship. During our research for the book “Torri Lana 1885. Archives and Future”, we came across an interesting sample: the Blue White Oslo fabric, produced in the ’70s for the production of optical bedcovers. The archival design has been deconstructed, scaled and remixed. The result is a contemporary jacquard fabric that is part of the Triplejacq collection of Lanificio Leo. The yarn colors of the 2018 color chart were chosen by the Dutch artist Sigrid Calon.

ELEFANTE / Tavolo per Bonacina 1889. ELEFANTE è un tavolo da esterno con struttura metallica e piano in vetro fumè. Ha un grande sostegno centrale formato da otto tubolari accostati che si suddividono a diverse altezze per dare forma alle gambe e ai raccordi della struttura. È un tavolo disegnato con curve morbide e linee geometriche semplici che nell’accostamento e nella variazione delle direzioni restituiscono un’immagine organica e, allo stesso tempo, forte e stabile. /// ELEFANTE table for Bonacina 1889. ELEFANTE is an outdoor table with metal structure and smoked glass top. It has a large central support formed by eight juxtaposed tubulars that branch at different heights to shape the legs and the connections of the structure. It is a table designed with soft curves and simple geometric lines that in the combination and in the variation of the directions give back an organic and at the same time strong and stable image.

BALANCING / Accessori da scrivania per SALVATORI. Il set da scrivania BALANCING nasce dal dialogo tra due materiali nobili: il marmo e l’ottone. Il marmo è trattato come massa pura che accoglie o si sovrappone ai fogli d’ottone brunito. La famiglia si sviluppa attorno al portapenne, che per la geometria del suo disegno può oscillare delicatamente, pur mantenendo l’equilibrio. È a partire dall’idea di equilibrio dinamico che sono disegnati anche tutti gli altri elementi del set. I vari pezzi, in accordo con la loro funzione, sono reinterpretazioni di questo stesso concetto in chiavi differenti. The BALANCING desk set originates from the dialogue between two noble materials: marble and brass. Marble is treated as a pure mass that welcomes or overlaps the burnished brass sheets. The family grows around the pen holder, which can swing gently, due to the geometry of its design, while maintaining balance. All the other elements of the set are also designed starting from the idea of dynamic balance: the various pieces, according to their function, are reinterpretations of the same concept in different keys. Il volume sospeso nella prima consolle è suddiviso in modo fitto e regolare, mentre nella seconda è semplicemente definito senza essere completamente chiuso. CALMO / Vaso per galleria Luciano Colantonio. Il vaso CALMO ricorda quegli oggetti misteriosi che si trovano la mattina sulla spiaggia, portati dalla marea. La loro provenienza è ignota, le forme sono semplificate, ripulite dal lungo tragitto e dall’effetto del sole e dell’acqua marina; delle loro primigenie caratteristiche restano soltanto tracce. The CALMO vase seems to be one of those mysterious objects that are found on the beach in the morning, brought in by the tide, of unknown origin.
